Man kills his 2 young kids on Father’s Day before hanging himself A 40-year-old father is believed to have murdered his young son and daughter then hanged  himself on Father’s Day during a custody battle with his estranged wife. Deputies from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department arrived at the Santa Rosa,  California, home of Alvaro Camara, 40, on Monday morning to a horrifying scene as they  responded to a welfare check. He was supposed to drop his six-year-old daughter and 18-month-old son off at their  mother’s house Sunday night, but never showed up.

Recall: INEC notifies Dino, set to verify signatures next month Dino melaye By Omeiza Ajayi ABUJA -The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has formally acknowledged receipt of a petition from some voters in Kogi West senatorial District for th  recall  of  Sen. Dino Melaye, saying it has notified the lawmaker of the development. Dino Melaye INEC National Commissioner, Mohammed Haruna in a statement said the  commission had deliberated on the issue during its weekly regular meeting held on Thursday. “In accordance with the INEC guidelines for the recall of members of the National Assembly, the  commission has formally acknowledge the receipt of of the petition to the petitioner’s  representatives and has conveyed a letter notifying Senator Melaye of our receipt of the petition”,  INEC said. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) yesterday said that 62,140 candidates, who had issues with late registration, biometric non-verification and cancellation of results would have to rewrite the examination. The board said the rescheduled examination would hold on 1st of July 2017 across the candidates’ centres. JAMB Registrar Is-haq Oloyede spoke yesterday after a meeting of the board’s management with chief external examiners and other major stakeholders on the conduct of 2017 UTME, at its headquarters, Bwari, Abuja. Oloyede said the meeting candidates approved the cancellation of the results of 1,386 candidates for examination He added that these candidates would not be allowed to rewrite the examination.
