HOW TO SET UP A MOTORISED SATELLITE DISH Suitable mounting pole (2″ aluminium or steel scaffold pole) TK brackets or and L-Bar for mounting a dish to a wall U-Bolts Spirit Level Drill, F-Connectors, spanners, hammer Compass & Satellite signal meter POSITIONING YOUR DISH ——————- Please bear in mind that the dish needs to be far enough away from the wall and any other obstacles so that the dish rotates freely. We normally mount the pole using TK brackets or an L-Bar which extend out from the wall by 18 inches. You need to be able to rotate the dish between at least 30 degrees east and 30 degrees west of due south, without obstructions such as trees in the way. The furthest point you normally go to the east is the same direction as a sky minidish (28.2 east), you need to be able to rotate the dish by 60 degrees to the west from this point. Standing behind the dish, the west is to the right of a mini-dish. If you can get a clean arc as far as 45 degrees east and 45 degrees west then th...

MULTI BEAM DISH

A satellite dish can receive signals from multiple satellites by using one LNB for each satellite . This configuration has advantages and disadvantages. The main advantage over a motorized dish is that you can change channels quickly, but the non-center LNBs will receive lower quality signal. The multiple LNB bracket must keep a constant focal distance and must follow the inverted reflection ofClarke orbit. The focal distance depends on antenna and orbit reflection depends on location. The distance between LNBs is proportional with dish diameter. Later I will show how these parameters affect the LNB bracket shape and size. But now, let’s see what kind of brackets you can build and how will you attach a LNB to them. The two types oh holders you can build The first type (upper) uses a metal sheet bent as an arc shape and it sits vertically with the LNBs attached as shown. The second type is an arc shape trimmed sheet that sits horizontally. I would recommend this second type...

The dish above belong to me. I was able to track 6 different satellites with it, using four lnbs. The procedures is this : 1. Get 90 cm dish size ( preferably) 2. Fix your dish and get ready to track. 3. Pick up one lnb and connect it and track Eutelsat 16 @ 16 degree East as primary using frequency 10804 H 30000. Make sure you increase your signal to at least 70% and blindscan to get your channels. 4. Fix second lnbs and place it on top of your primary lnb to track Multi TV. The distance from Eutelsat 16 and Multi TV is little bit far ( 16 degree East to 28.2 degree East). Use ...
