Crime: Police Commence New Operations On Abuja-Kaduna Highway
The Inspector General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris, has deployed a Joint Police Team with a mandate to wipe out kidnappers on the Abuja-Kaduna Highway. The team deployed in Rijanah, Kaduna State comprises the Special Police Force, Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Squad, Anti-Kidnapping Units, Intelligence Response Team, Special Tactical Squad, the Force Intelligence Branch, and the Police Mobile Force with Headquarters. The Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, disclosed this at a news conference on Tuesday in Abuja where he also paraded some suspected kidnappers of the mother of Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello in 2014.The Joint Police Team are under “The Joint Police Team are under a specific and definite mandate to root out the kidnap for ransom gangs and armed robbery gangs that have been terrorising the Abuja-Kaduna Highway in the recent times.
